My name is Andres Felipe Alvarez Barbosa, I was born in Bogotá, Colombia and had the chance to live several years in the United States and England. I am currently a Service Designer at Volvo Group's North America Design Studio. Living and visiting different countries opened my eyes to different ways of life and modes of transport. I dreamt of becoming an aerospace engineer and designing planes and race cars but found my true passion for transportation design.
After finishing my Industrial Design degree in Bogota, I came to ArtCenter knowing my impact could be larger. By deeply understanding cultural differences, appreciating what others consider crazy or unorthodox, I use these unique approaches and find strategies that resonate within a community. As a designer, I have always taken the path less traveled.
I embrace disorder and I thrive in it, to find solutions.
